Hey, all! It’s been yonks!

I’ve switched over to a new Tumblr for the past couple months. Not sure if anyone’s interested in following me elsewhere, but if you ARE just drop me a note and I’ll give you my new username.

I just got out of a weird period of life change-y weirdness that finally seems to be settling down, and it would be great to come out of hermitude and see some familiar faces. : )

It just started sleet-snowing in Iowa. Someone better be writing Kids on the Slope Yuletide fic for when a blizzard comes through, or I’ll have to resort to some shoddy substitution of my own. All I’m saying’.

Motorcycle mama Pauline writes from Minnesota to share that she is “still ridin’ with the hawgs.” Polly says she’s going to treat herself to a new harley on her 90th birthday in 2013.  She remains forever grateful for the shop/mechanical repair courses she took at both her high school and at Smith, as she has “saved a bundle over the years doing my own repairs.”

File under: reasons I read every word of the Alumnae Quarterly.

What a fucking badass

THIS IS THE BEST THING.

The socks of the world ought to be donated to the more needy, such as Sandy victims, who as I understand it have NO SOCKS AT ALL.

Socks for Sandy may have ended, but you can still donate vital supplies via Assemblyman Matthew Titone’s amazon wish list or give $10 by texting REDCROSS to 90999.

Do it in honor of the Shoebox Project, then check out the rest of Claire’s musings on socks, the Shoebox Project, and the struggles of early adulthood.
